Description Low Kian seong 2002-08-03 07:13:55 UTC
I just installed gentoo and am trying to install kde. I tried installing
ghostscript but I cannot install 7.0.5.3-r2 i could only install version
7.0.5.
Then I found that I couldn't install openjade.

this doesnt really show the error ... could you post the error that is shown on
the console when you try to emerge it ?
Comment 3 Low Kian seong 2002-08-11 10:14:14 UTC
Actually openjade can be installed it's just that ghostscript is giving me problems. Sorry.
Comment 4 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2002-08-11 10:29:25 UTC
so what is the final compilation error that you see ?
does this ebuild fix your problem ?

ghostscript-7.05.3-r1 is the one that cannot be installed. The attachment doesn't solve the problem.
Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2002-08-11 23:37:30 UTC

Comment 8 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2002-08-12 00:08:54 UTC

you sure that attached ebuild didnt work ?
every other person who has had the exact problem as you fixed it with that
attached ebuild ...
Comment 9 Low Kian seong 2002-08-12 03:16:14 UTC
It's installing as usual now... What was the problem to begin with can i know ?
Comment 10 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2002-08-12 07:41:39 UTC
sure, the problem is simply that ghostscript doesnt compile when job support is
enabled in make. it would seem that certain components get compiled before they
should, thus resulting in missing files
