This relies on gst-plugins-ffmpeg that is dead for ages and broken with ffmpeg-3 (as it does on every major ffmpeg version). Also relies on gstreamer-0.10, pygobject:2 and some other deprecated/dead libs I would then try to treeclean it finally as I cannot see any trace of porting to gstreamer1 As a side note, it looks the addresses in metadata.xml are obsolete
I'm not happy about your decision to remove a fully functional software from the tree. It is true about gstreamer/pygobject:2 but I have tested and provided a solution for ffmpeg and the rest, see bug #550426 Anyway, it would be good to have an alternative tray radio before you deleted it.
I agree with Anton Bolshakov. No activity upstream doesn't mean the software is deprecated. It's working perfectly and there is no alternative actually in portage.
Looking to the (unattended) upstream bug tracker it looks like having multiple bug reports: https://bitbucket.org/carlmig/radio-tray/issues I also see someone tried to port it to gtk3 and gstreamer1 later... but nobody did a release ever... if anyone if willing to prepare a snapshot ebuild, that would be nice
Is not fair, radiotray is a good program. Totally agree with Anton and Zentoo.
