Wanted to follow up on this. We've made significant improvements over the weekend in our overall network performance of mirrors. Also solved an issue with IPv6 so that it now performs on par with ipv4.

Thanks, I have added the mirror(s) now. I need to look at future rewrites of how we do mirrors and redirection (mostly to take advantage of SSL), and it'll have to take into account other anycast/geo-aware solutions where the monitoring addresses may vary from the service address (eg say both US nodes are down).
