Comment 2 Nanouck 2004-07-26 05:53:09 UTC
ok I have the same problem when I want to install net-libs/linc, so the problem come from libosip-0.9.7, which does not create libosp.so.3.

/usr/bin/openjade: error while loading shared libraries: libosp.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can someone help?
Comment 3 Stefan Knoblich (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-29 16:13:46 UTC
sorry, but this is not libosip related, libosp comes from OpenSP which is a dependency of Openjade

which version of OpenSP do you have installed?

running ldconfig (as root) should fix the problem, if the only missing file is libosp.so.3 (which is a symlink)
Comment 4 Nanouck 2004-07-30 03:04:58 UTC
In fact I have corrected this with emerging openjade again and there is no problems anymore. I was confused between libosip and libosp. I have opensp 1.5.1.

I have the same problem with app-text/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.14:

..however re-emerging opensp and openjade have no effect. Opensp gives
libosp.so.4 but .so.3 is nowhere to be found from any of those packages I have
the following versions installed:

/root# emerge -av openjade opensp

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild R ] app-text/openjade-1.3.2-r1 -debug 0 kB
[ebuild R ] app-text/opensp-1.5.1 +nls 0 kB

I tried ln -s /usr/lib/libosp.so.4.0.0 /usr/lib/libosp.so.3 , but when the
compile of app-text/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.14 gets to the same command it just
seems to "freeze".
Comment 6 t35t0r 2005-06-06 11:14:10 UTC
OK I got it to work now.

1) You have to emerge opensp first manually by itself.
2) Then emerge openjade manually by itself.

This fixes the problems. This bug should be cloased.

So why isnt opensp emerged first when you emerge open jade automaticly as a dep.
or something? That would really be helpfull and it would keep blokes like me
searching google for 30 min only to find this thread.
Comment 8 t35t0r 2005-06-09 07:35:15 UTC
probably running revdep-rebuild would have fixed this, I'm just too impatient to
let that program run.
Comment 9 Stian Skjelstad 2005-06-30 04:33:51 UTC
revdep-rebuild would have fixed this in the first place (jade uses libosp.so.xx,
and when you compiled openjade, it linked agains libosp.so.3, and after
upgrading that lib, it was renamed to libosp.so.4 due to new API). Reporter or
Assigner can close this bug as resolved.
Comment 10 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-14 07:00:46 UTC
Mass reassign, seems apparently unmaintained now. Unless someone picks this up,
it should be better removed from the tree.
Comment 11 John Mylchreest (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-14 07:09:31 UTC
if no one is willing to maintain this I will fix these up soon. I am not
interested in keeping it long-term though.
Comment 12 John Mylchreest (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-14 12:05:10 UTC
net-misc/linphone-1.0.1 is now in the tree under testing. Please try it out and
let me know if you still have problems.
