When attempting to use the Git project integration in Kate I get the following:

After looking at the source it appears as if Kate is calling libgit2 from within a worker thread.  This appears to require that libgit2 be built with USE="threads".  Adding this flag resolves the issue.  (The libgit2 integration still does not function correctly, however, that is likely a different issue to the one reported here.)

Thanks. First issue is fixed here in Gentoo, the other has to be reported upstream.
