Couple question:

1.)  Is this still happening with 3.4.1-r2?
2.)  What version of dev-perl/Net-DNS do you have installed?
3.)  Can you post the result from:
     emerge --info '=mail-filter/spamassassin-3.4.1-r2::gentoo
4.)  And also the output from:
     emerge -pqv '=mail-filter/spamassassin-3.4.1-r2::gentoo
5.)  Does /var/tmp/portage/mail-filter/spamassassin-3.4.1-r2/work/Mail-SpamAssassin-3.4.1/spamc/Makefile exist after the failure and is it non-empty?
