new version released http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.77#Blender_2.77_Release_Notes Reproducible: Always
ebuild from nightmare overlay compiles and work absolutely fine: http://data.gpo.zugaina.org/nightmare/media-gfx/blender/blender-2.77.ebuild Guys, why we still have in tree latest ebuild for Blender version with release date in 2014? Are we under some kind of a curse?
@Julian Ospald (hasufell) why are you so lazy as f**k? Not even CONFIRMED after 1 week.
@romockee: It's not his fulltime job even he gets any money for that - so there can be a delay of course ;) @hasufell: maybe we can get a small statement of the progress. You're maintaining Blender in your private overlay but why not bumping the new version to the testing branch? It's for testing and reporting bugs, so a few things can be fixed on the go which are reported in bug #536078
(In reply to Richard Nespithal (d3v0x) from comment #3) @Richard Nespithal (d3v0x) Well, Julian Ospald (hasufell) leave our community and don't confirm or maintain ebuilds no more, information from IRC channel: "" since he didn't give the courtesy of formally retiring, he still appears in package metadata and thus will have bug reports assigned to him until such a time as another run of inactive dev retirements are performed blender has additional co-maintainers (lu_zero and graphics team) so you could ping them, but indeed it seems the package is basically unmaintained ""
