It looks like people is using this component randomly as, probably, "development" is a too vague area. You can simply take a look to the bugs listed in that component to see that they don't share anything in common :/ I think we should simply remove that component then Thanks
This is true for most of the random components like 'Applicaitons', 'Library', 'Server'... The problem with removing components is that you need to reassign bugs first. However, we can disable it so people won't be able to put new bugs into it. I would gladly do that if we decide how we want to proceed with various components. I'd rather see an agreed-on plan first before touching this nest of wasps.
sounds like something to discuss on gentoo-dev (and bike shed for a few weeks) for how we want to use bugzilla to manage reports. most of the useful components under Gentoo Linux end up being project specific. so maybe every registered project just gets their own ?
Since nobody seems to mind disabling this particular component, done as requested.
Well, not as requested since removal would require moving all the bugs first. Just disabled it and added the '[OLD]' marking for browse/search.
