# /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask: # Lars Wendler <polynomial-c@gentoo.org> (20 Aug 2015) # Masked for testing It's been masked with that nondescript message since August 2015. Can you either update the status of this package in the mask message, or just unmask it?
@vapier: What do you think?
We now have =net-misc/iputils-20151218 from original upstream in the tree.
guess this is a WONTFIX since the mask is really about the unofficial fork ? i think we should continue to keep that masked. i hate this situation.
Unofficial fork? Wha? Seems like the github page is the new upstream. What's going on?

No, it really is a fork done because original upstream didn't publish a new release in three years. I hope you are okay with me keeping the fork in portage as long as it stays masked. Feel free to assign any bug report about this fork directly to me.
Oh, bummer. Seems like it'd be nice to switch to that one though, as it's more readily updated. Actually the only reason I personally care is because I got a bugfix patch in there that's a bit important to me: https://github.com/iputils/iputils/commit/8b75f100bbc84aa32a2c35b54c53f48071af6e95 I guess I'll send it to the other upstream, but seeing as they don't like to make new releases, I don't expect to have much luck.
(In reply to Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) from comment #5) i have no prob at all keeping it in masked (In reply to Jason A. Donenfeld from comment #6) i've gotten most of the pending Gentoo patches merged at this point
