hardened-kernel@gentoo.org is a mail alias for use on bugzilla. I inherited it many years ago, but I never really needed it. I'd like to deprecate it and have all hardened-kernel@gentoo.org bugs just assigned to me blueness@gentoo.org. I'll fix the metadata.xml on the tree and reassign the bugs, but I need infra to clobber the alias in bugzilla. Reproducible: Always
what do you mean deprecate exactly ? you can't delete accts, just change their names (so the desc would say "DO NOT USE"). but it wouldn't really prevent people from assigning/cc-ing.

(In reply to Anthony Basile from comment #2) correct, bugzilla doesn't allow you to cc any e-mail not registered. but someone has registered an acct w/the e-mail addr hardened-kernel@gentoo.org, hence it can be cc-ed/etc... accts can't be deleted. e-mail addresses can be changed, so we could probably create a set that we change these deprecated ones too. maybe re-use the noreply ? or something like dead+hardened-kernel@localhost.invalid ?

it looks like you can disable the account which will prevent it from auto-completing. you can still type out the full address though and bugzilla will accept it. is disabling auto-complete sufficient ? otherwise, admins can easily change the e-mail address to something like dead+hardened-kernel@localhost.invalid in addition to disabling it.
overall process is covered in bug 585990. this bug tracks only the execution of the one account in question now.
CC-ed you on open bugs where hk has been in CC, disabled it and changed mail to hardened-kernel+disabled@gentoo.org.
