games.eclass is now deprecated and must not be used in new ebuilds. For this reason, gnome-games.eclass either needs to remove its inherit or be deprecated altogether. I think the latter option would be preferred since AFAICS it would just be equivalent to gnome2.eclass after removing games.eclass stuff.
It was added when we were forced to use games.eclass for the installation of that games... if now games.eclass must not be used (well... last time I asked the people in games team were still wanting to install the games in their specific locations), this eclass can simply die
All the gnome 3.20 games have been moved away of games.eclass usage... I will check the remaining when I finish all the Gnome 3.20 work :S
FWICS, this eclass is no longer used. Can we lastrite it then?
The bug has been referenced in the following commit(s): https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=7754582d1c920efe27c728340669bcf5dd808417 commit 7754582d1c920efe27c728340669bcf5dd808417 Author: Michał Górny <mgorny@gentoo.org> AuthorDate: 2018-04-18 08:12:01 +0000 Commit: Michał Górny <mgorny@gentoo.org> CommitDate: 2018-04-18 08:12:01 +0000 gnome-games.eclass: Mark @DEAD for removal Bug: https://bugs.gentoo.org/574644 eclass/gnome-games.eclass | 5 ++++- 1 file changed, 4 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-)}
I'm going to claim maintainer timeout here, and last rite it.
Long gone and games.eclass is now last-rited too.
