Since GLEP67 transition https://qa-reports.gentoo.org/output/maintainer-needed.html shows none to very few packages (likely related to no maintainer listed now defaulting to maintainer-needed)
Exactly the problem. The script is just a dumb bash script calling portageq. Someone needs to rework it into something else, or get portageq a new option to output packages with no maintainers.
We have a '--orphaned' option for portageq now: https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/portage.git/commit/?id=5789c1c2d923692f221a17dcfb6a13dcd188d6f1 I will update the infra side once portage-2.2.28 goes stable.
Created attachment 433544 [details, diff] 0001-maintainer-needed.sh-fix-orphaned-list-generation-pe.patch portage-2.2.28 is in stable for amd64. I attached the patch to fix the script. Since I don't know the setup of infra, I'm not sure if '--repo gentoo' is needed in there.
Thank you for the patch. This was now pushed to the qa-scripts repo[1]. [1] - https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/qa-scripts.git/commit/?id=eff6ba6bff0523408fe7dd99136a35c23e998d52
