Description Jeremy Murphy 2016-01-20 09:01:46 UTC
Lots of errors in the build.log related to compiling C++11 code (included from libsigc++) without enabling C++11.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =dev-libs/libsigc++-2.6.2
2. emerge =dev-cpp/glibmm-2.44.0

Actual Results:
Compilation errors.

Expected Results:
Not sure. Either blocked it at the ebuild level if they are fundamentally incompatible, or enabled C++11 if that is a reasonable step in this case.

you need to use glibmm-2.46

(In reply to Pacho Ramos from comment #2)
> you need to use glibmm-2.46

Well, I think that's a bit of a hasty reply because actually what I needed to do was downgrade libsigc++ back to 2.4.1. (I can't remember why I had it keyworded in the first place.)

Anyway, doesn't really matter, I guess the moral of the story is that when you keyword packages you run this risk of incompatibility.
Comment 4 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2016-01-23 13:48:26 UTC
hasty? Well, sorry if it sounded like that... I was at job and simply looking to a few bugs on a small gap that I was free

In summary -> Either you run all the "mm" part from testing or from stable, but mixing them can lead to issues like this ;)

See you
