Marking as a duplicate of a WONTFIX bug is quite rude.

Did you actually *read* the duped bug before jumping to conclusions? It says there that EAPI=6 introduces similar functionality and so the Gnome team will rely on that instead of adding support for a now-deprecated feature.

In a nutshell, gnome-builder *will* get epatch support when:

1) the gnome2 eclass supports EAPI=6 (see bug #571378)
2) gnome-builder ebuild is migrated to EAPI=6

Both of which should not take long, and I'm sure the team could use help with testing.
