Description Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2015-12-29 22:59:16 UTC
Per GLEP67, packages can be maintained by projects and people only. Please create a project for alt@ or inline the maintainers.

Solved through adding an e-mail address to the existing Alt project page[1].

A list gentoo-alt@lists.gentoo.org already exists.
Maybe packages can be assigned directly to prefix instead?
The alt@gentoo.org is no harm, though, so if it solves the problem,
we can move gentoo-alt@lists.gentoo.org to use alt@gentoo.org instead.

@grobian, what do you think?

alt != prefix

alt used to be stuff like Gentoo/FreeBSD, and some other things done back then. Nowadays, I don't know what really falls under alt, since there is also bsd@gentoo.org. Either case, it's an umbrella project really. Perhaps we better pull BSD and Prefix out to top-level and let Alt go the way of the dodo.

Just FYI, alt formally maintains two virtuals.
Comment 5 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2016-01-14 11:33:54 UTC
yeah, that's because they are basically non-glibc virtuals (if it is what I think it is you're referring to). I wouldn't mind to drop that to prefix@ if that cleans up this whole thing. Alternatively, double-maintainer, prefix@ and bsd@.

As long as alt is a project, it's fine with me. Though you may want to enable member inheritance to indicate that all prefix & bsd people are included.

If you wanted to remove alt, please just update the metadata in the two packages.
