emerge --info

mailtutils fail build with gcc-5.3 and guile-1.8.8-r2 when guile USE is active.

Workaround: emerge mailutils without guile USE for build package.

net-mail/mailutils
Installed versions:  2.99.98(07:52:27 AM 08/05/2016)(berkdb clients gdbm guile ipv6 nls pam python ssl tcpd threads ..)

It works for me with guile-2.0.12 and gcc-4.9.3.

Can you please test it if it works for you too?

Solved upgrading to guile-2 from 1.8

Once guile-2 is stabilized we will be able to stabilize a newer version forcing the usage of newer guile I guess
