Hi. I've discovered a patch in Gnome's bugzilla (see the URL associated with this bug) which patches vte, chiefly delivering a significant performance boost for gnome-terminal. As gnome-terminal is, frankly, dog slow on modest hardware this is a real boon, IMHO :) I've been using it for weeks and have encountered no issues. Any chance of inclusion?

I just found some more information on the topic in general ... quite interesting. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=83472
looks good to me, spider does this work well for you in remote sessions ?
I haven't been able to test it yet due to RL taking me over and doing unpleasant things. However, this patch looks good, and from what I see is a bit of a micro optimization in how it works, however it should probably go in atm. I can't see anything bad from it at a glance, and over remote it wouldn't change much either.
