In the REDEPEND of k3b you have this:

          !amd64? ( <media-video/transcode-0.6.12 )

Since I'm on x86, I'm constantly prompted to downgrade transcode.  Any reason only amd64 people are allowed to enjoy the newer transcode?

amd64 people arenn't "allowed to enjoy" transcode, but totally excluded because <0.6.12 isn't marked amd64

Then the logic in your RDEPEND is backwards.
