Current name for maintainer-needed is: Default Assignee for Orphaned Packages Reading bugs like bug 510920 (and many others that appear from time to time), looks like some people don't understand what "orphan packages" mean and still wonder about why their comments are ignored. I would then rename that to a more explicit one, one suggestion: "No maintainer - Contact with proxy-maint@g.o if you are willing to maintain it"
you gave editusers and you can change the account description, what are you waiting for?
