Description DK Smith 2004-06-25 19:17:23 UTC
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=33534

Several statments could be misleading for users...

1. "The newer way to mask packages is to declare KEYWORDS in the ebuild file. "

I see in the forum a lot talk about not messing with ebuild file and instead
using the /etc/portage/package.unmask mechanism (which is mentioned much
later in in the article).

2. "ACCEPT_KEYWORDS can also be set on the command line."

In several instances in the Forums, people warn of side-effects
of setting ACCEPT_KEYWORDS on the cmd line.

Reopening, this is a forum bug.
Comment 3 Wernfried Haas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-17 14:31:09 UTC
There's also a thread on the forums about it:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-305451.html
I've made some minor changes but a bigger revision would be good.

I updated the KEYWORDS FAQ and made a new FAQ that covers Masked Packages. This
bug can now be closed.
