Maybe python-2.7 needs rebuilding after glibc update :/

It's so major that I am even unable to re-emerge python or bash :S

Comment 5 Jack Morgan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-05-31 16:39:41 UTC
I tested glibc-2.21 by adding --disable-multi-arch to sys-libs/glibc/files/eblits/src_configure.eblit but got the same errors, wait_for: No record of process 0.

I'm attaching my build.log for glibc-2.21

Just for note:

I've reverted sparc support for all 2.20.x ebuilds with -sparc in keywords.
Comment 8 David 2015-06-01 16:38:08 UTC
I can confirm that after rebuilding bash and the python2.7 stack manually, portage is working well again.
Comment 9 David 2015-06-01 17:16:24 UTC
Additional information "emerge -e @world" is now finished on my system (no errors), and everything is working well now (sshd was also broken by the update).

I have no idea how to solve this issue with portage.

I can provide a working stage3 if needed.
Comment 10 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2015-06-01 20:04:00 UTC
Do you know which of them (bash or python) is the real culprit? In my case I cannot re-emerge any of them... but maybe we should then provide two precompiled tarballs to allow people to "unbreak" their systems :/
Comment 11 David 2015-06-02 15:15:01 UTC
Python and bash need to be fixed.

I just created a tarball with quickpkg

Thanks, it looks to work with your binpkgs :)
Comment 14 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2015-07-20 11:34:40 UTC
the sigaction ABI was broken for sparc32 systems by accident; see upstream bug for details & fix
Comment 15 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2015-07-21 02:40:12 UTC
i've pushed the fixes in upstream for 2.20.1/2.21.1/2.22 and backported it to our glibc-2.20/2.21 ebuilds. there won't be a revbump as it isn't needed here.

http://sources.gentoo.org/gentoo/src/patchsets/glibc/2.20/00_all_0037-sparc-fix-sigaction-for-32bit-builds-BZ-18694.patch?rev=1.1
