Description Christopher Head 2015-04-11 05:30:39 UTC
Midori does not check for expired TLS certificates. Point it at an HTTPS site whose certificate has expired (as of this writing, https://duckduckgo.org/—not .com, which is the search engine—is an example of such a site; it presents a certificate which expired in 2013). It connects without any complaint.

Reproducible: Always

Note that I reported this bug upstream over two months ago (against 0.5.9, the latest official release, which it also affects) and nobody has so much as commented on it. I have included the bug URL in the URL field, but it is private (Midori makes its security bugs private) so you will see 404 if you try to visit it.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 546236 ***
Comment 3 Christopher Head 2015-04-12 17:54:06 UTC
Are you sure these are duplicates? Bug 546236 is failure to check hostname, this is failure to check expiry date. Not saying outright they shouldn’t be duplicates, just checking if the closed-duplicate was intentional.
