Description Paul Osmialowski 2015-03-30 07:08:52 UTC
After recent decision to drop emul-linux-x86-* packages, I need to rebuild lots of them to support x86 programs that I need for my work. Qt packages are among them. Unfortunately, stable 4.8.5 packages do not introduce multilib. Since I'm using stable KDE for my everyday Linux experience, I don't want to mix it with masked Qt 4.8.6. Is there any particular reason why Qt 4.8.5 cannot provide multilib libraries?

Reproducible: Always

Some of my family members are also hitting this because of skype but, if I don't misremember, multilib stuff was difficult to backport to 4.8.5 and 4.8.6 is not ready for stable due to other bugs :/. I doubt we can improve the situation much :|

Multilib support was introduced in 4.8.6. "Backporting" would be a huge waste of time and will not happen. It's easier to stabilize 4.8.6.
