tk should be installed as a dependency for rp-pppoe when emerging it with USE="X", shouldn't it?
Not exactly. It should be on the depend of tcltk & X if it's a TK app. Adding this to the tcltk USE flag metabug.
Created attachment 36922 [details, diff] Corrects the tcltk USE flag issue, which also fixes this bug. Please apply this patch against rp-pppoe-3.5-r1 and test. (I don't have PPP or anything like that so I can't). But this should clean up the tcltk USE flag problem which is the fix for this bug. tcltk USE flag bug #17808
yep, this bug seems to be fixed (fresh install of gentoo systems on a notebook)
Yep... My patch still needs to be merged in by the net-dialup peoples.

Bad patch, after rsync: emerge -pv =net-dialup/rp-pppoe-3.5-r1 These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies \ emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "))". !!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.
