Description Jaak Ristioja 2015-01-14 18:56:05 UTC
The comments in /etc/hosts should make it more clear, that the first alias following the address should be the canonical hostname. Otherwise users might end up with something like:

  127.0.0.1 localhost myhost.mydomain.tld

The above hosts line does not work for `dnsdomainname` which outputs "(none)" and agetty, which prints "This is myhost.unknown_domain (Linux...".

I suggest that at minimum a reference to `man 5 hosts` be added to the default /etc/hosts file. Thanks!
