Description Peter Martin 2015-01-01 16:53:55 UTC
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:AMD64/Working/Features
The documentation "Pulling validated portage tree snapshots" does not work without first installing crypt/gnupg.

I have just installed Gentoo using the Handbook:AMD64 (btw: marvelous documentation!) and stumbled on "Pulling validated portage tree snapshots" https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:AMD64/Working/Features

I have followed all steps in the documentation.
However, the gpg command results in an error.
Apparently gpg has not been installed yet.

Maybe a reference to installing gpg using emerge crypt/gnupg like described at https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/GnuPG could be added to the documentation of "Pulling validated portage tree snapshots"?

I've reported this issue for AMD64.
It might apply for other hardware as well.

Thanks!
