Description Christian Gut 2004-05-30 07:47:27 UTC
The bmeps package contains a command line program and a library to convert bitmap image files (PNG/JPEG/NetPBM) to EPS. EPS level 1, 2 and 3 can be used.
Depending on the EPS level there are different compression and encoding algorithms available:

    * run-length-compression (2 and above)
    * flate compression (3 and above)
    * ASCII-85-encoding instead of ASCII-Hex (2 and above)

The program is intended to be used with LaTeX/dvips or other DTP software accepting EPS graphics.
No automated scaling/rotating is done by the program to fit pages of any paper size, this is left up to the DTP application including the graphics.

Reproducible: Always

bmeps-1.1.0.ebuild

little change in the naming theme for the package - otherwise version bump

Please check the latest ebuild header, see
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=2&chap=3
for valid header (we no longer use Gentoo
Technologies, Inc.).

Also, netpbm dependency is missing from
your ebuild, though it seems necessary
because of the sed line to force -lnetpbm.

Other parts seem alright and clean
(though I haven't tested it yet).

Does anyone mind if I take it?

bmeps-1.2.2 is released meanwhile

Are you still interested in this ebuild?
Comment 6 Christian Gut 2005-07-27 23:50:26 UTC
Yes, would be great we can get it into the tree. That app is very usefull if you
do a lot in latex.
Comment 7 Ciaran McCreesh 2005-09-13 18:48:38 UTC
Please fix the following and reopen:

* The configure sed line should go in src_unpack. Ideally you should modify
configure.{in,ac} rather than configure.

bmeps-1.2.5.ebuild Ebuild for BMEPS revised

I accidently opened a new bug for this ebuild before I saw that it already
exists. Anyway as this one is a bit outdated here is a new ebuild for bmeps.
The sed trick is not necessary anymore as the author changed this already.

bmeps-2.0.3.ebuild

From duplicate bug : added ebuild for the 1->2 version bump.
See bug #201659 for a new dependancy.

(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug)

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild
submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely
manner. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay.
So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your
ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)

Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time.

Thanks,
On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team,
Jeremy.

Comment 15 Mathias Weigt 2011-06-04 13:51:56 UTC
I'm not. Also bmeps is now part of a bigger package: dktools. So I'm not sure if this ebuild is still working. I'd suggest that anyone who needs it creates a new ebuild for dktools.
Comment 16 cJ 2011-06-04 14:05:11 UTC
Me don't care anymore and remembers building it was too much a PITA for what it is.

OK resolving then.
