Package masked. Do not install unless you are using a non-production system and can contribute to improving gentoo support for 2.4 and comment on bug 524010. Currently the 2.4.1 ebuild is just a slightly modified package masked version of the 2.2.7 ebuild - main change was updating java jre dependency from 1.4. to 1.6. Need to identify other installation differences between 2.2 and 2.4. I suspect config files and perhaps init files will also need work.
Hello. Thanks for the updated ebuilds. zabbix-2.4.1 is working well for me. There was/is a bug with php-5.6 and the frontend but it seems fixed in 2.4.2. https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-8726 cheers t.
Can we get zabbix 2.4.2 in the tree? And is there a chance to unmask it? I really would love to upgrade from 2.2 to 2.4 :-)
Hello. zabbix-2.4.3 has been released. http://www.zabbix.com/news.php best regards
Yes, I would love to see 2.4.3, too :-) Thanks Christian
Adding 2.4.3 now.
I just have copied your 2.4.3 ebuild in my overlay and added ~amd64. Our production server is running fine so far. I followed the upgrade instructions on the website to upgrade from 2.2.7 to 2.4.3. No manual changes for the databe if using postgres. I had to do manual work, because I use postgres partitions. The table history_sync and history_str_sync will be dropped by 2.4.3. If you have partitions dependend on them, you need to drop the tables with cascade and afterwards re-add them from an earlier backup without data. After starting the new version, the tables will be dropped again andzabbix will finish upgrading the database successfully. At least at our system. There have been no changes to zsabbix_server.conf and also webapp-config -U succeeded without any problems. zabbix-agentd is also running These are the USE-flags that I am using currently: [ebuild R ~] net-analyzer/zabbix-2.4.3::x-portage USE="agent curl frontend ipv6 jabber java ldap libxml2 openipmi postgres server snmp ssh -mysql -odbc -oracle -proxy -sqlite -static" 0 KiB Thanks for your great work :-)
With possible memory leak (https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-9285) fixed in versions 2.2.9 and 2.4.4 could we expect new ebuilds any time soon?
Hola. zabbix-2.4.5 has been released. cheers t.
2.4.5 works :) Simply copied the 2.4.1-ebuild. Why is this ebuild still masked?
The 2.4.x series are now there for a long time and we still have old and hardmasked 2.4.1 and 2.4.3 versions in the tree. Users reported back that the ebuild work very well and even a bump to current 2.4.5 is doing well. Please add 2.4.5 and add unstable keywords. Or tell me if you do not have the time, than I will do it.
2.4.5 in CVS with unstable keywords. Removed older 2.4.x versions.
