Description Adam Randall 2014-09-15 04:18:48 UTC
glsa-check is reporting that my system is affected by GLSA 201408-15, even though I am running dev-db/postgresql-server-9.2.7 already. I double-checked by checking if anything was waiting updating using `emerge -quDNpt @world`, and nothing came back.

Looking at the affected versions in the GLSA page itself (http://www.gentoo.org/security/en/glsa/glsa-201408-15.xml), it seems that the logic is just checking to see if any version of PostgreSQL below 9.3.3 is installed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install dev-db/postgresql-server-9.2.7
2. Run `glsa-check -t -all`
3. Observe that server is affected by GLSA 201408-15

I guess everyone is too busy with shellshock to even consider this. Sad.
Comment 2 Alex Xu (Hello71) 2014-10-03 00:47:01 UTC

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 106677 ***
Comment 3 Andrew Savchenko gentoo-dev 2015-01-30 11:02:25 UTC
Why duplicate status was removed?
Comment 4 Kristian Fiskerstrand (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-01-30 11:47:42 UTC
(In reply to Andrew Savchenko from comment #3)
> Why duplicate status was removed?

Because it is not a duplicate. The specific GLSA error has to be fixed by adding new not vulnerable versions to the list, whereby the bug it was marked a duplicate of is the format change itself.
Comment 5 Aaron W. Swenson gentoo-dev 2015-05-20 14:35:26 UTC
Now that the PostgreSQL ebuilds are unified, does this issue persist?
Comment 6 Aaron Bauman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2016-03-22 07:02:04 UTC
The logic is fixed per:

https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/201408-15

Also, the package no longer exists either.
