Bug 521992 – media-gfx/digikam-4.2.0[mysql] hangs with 100% CPU when opening configuration window

When mysql is used as database-backend, opening "settings -> configure digiKam...", digikam hangs completely after some seconds and takes 100% CPU. Digikam needs to be killed then. Downgrading to digikam-4.0.0 helps as a workaround. This error was already spotted by others:

I didn't test, but from the bug it appears to be fixed for 4.3.0

Just tested with git master, it's not fixed there.

I can confirm this bug. MySQL flag active and MySQL database configured (did not test without). Opening the configuration window in 4.2.0 leads to 100% CPU and nearly impossible to close the configuration windows (usually kill it). Will test 4.3.0 and Git Master too.

It is this bugfix, that causes the regression:

reverting this makes the config dialog work again.

I can still "fix" this by reverting
