Description Jon Copeland 2004-05-24 16:35:36 UTC
when you run 'smp doscsi' it stops responding on "Scanning for Megaraid...." even adding 'noraid' won't prevent this.

system:

compaw ap400 dual cpu
400mhz intel deschutes cpu
384MB ECC Ram
compaq 4GB ultrafast3 scsi (uses ncr53c8xx module)
440bx mobo

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. use smp doscsi to boot the livecd
2.
3.

Actual Results:
System doesn't lockup, but just stops responding, ctrl-alt-dlt still works for
reboot.

Expected Results:
Gone thru the inital bootup sequence without a problem

the following location points to the livecd with the problem:

http://dev.gentoo.org/~wolf31o2/releng/gentoo-2004.2-test2.iso

Thanks.

I'll try getting out a new CD sometime in the next day or two that will hopefully solve this problem.

What about the newer CD at http://dev.gentoo.org/~wolf31o2/releng and this problem?

The 2004.2 livecd doesn't load the megaraid driver until hotplug kicks in later in the boot process...

I'm going to RESOLVED-FIXED this since 2004.2 is just around the corner, and I've gotten no word back on this in over a month.
