I think we have basically decided not to do these massive backports. If you have specific patches which address critical bugs, we can apply them.
I dont know of such specific issue yet. I knew about your decission from the other bug. But I cannot follow the rationale - other than bad experience before with upstream ~stable~. Nevertheless this is a place to put a big file with patches. If they are needed.
