Confirming. Look for libaudclient under 'Removed features': http://audacious-media-player.org/news/27-audacious-3-5-released On my system this breaks x11-plugins/wmauda, app-admin/conky and xfce-extra/xfce4-playercontrol-plugin.
Same problem here.
Some guys over at Arch Linux have a tarball that adds audclient functionality separate from the new audacious. See https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=183469. Maybe gentoo could do something similar while we wait for conky et al to catch up?

I do not know if this is worth the effort, maybe media-sound/mp3splt-gtk and media-sound/mp3splt-gtk are the only two packages requiring libaudclient.

I have disabled audacious support for now. If there is libaudclient ebuild eventually it can be added back. Apparently audacious can still be used with conky to some extent. Find more information at the upstream bug tracker at https://github.com/brndnmtthws/conky/issues/293.
