From time to time, when clicking in a link to download a file in a web page, Epiphany fails to download it. In the downloads window appears a "failed" message and the file isn't downloaded. This behaviour appears randomly, but when a link doesn't work, it carries on failing. Reopening Epiphany doesn't solve the problem. This happens with Epiphany 1.2.5 (haven't tested 1.2.3). BTW, 1.2.2 doesn't have this problem. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Browse a webpage and download some file clicking on its link. 2. Downloads window opens. 3. Epiphany tries to download the file for a second. Actual Results: A "failed" message appears inside the progress bar. Expected Results: The file should be retrieved and the progress bar should show the percent downloaded. probably upstream problem. Might be vfs rather than epiphany.
can you give specifics on what exact files where are not downloaded ? examples.
The problems happended with PDFs hosted in my university, and videos posted in webpages. There were lot of cases, and variated. But I reinstalled Gentoo some weeks ago, and installed 1.2.6 (marked ~x86 in those days) and the problem solved. Don't know if it solved because my reinstall or the version bump, but now files seem to download nicely. Right now I'm upgrading to 1.2.7-r1. If I get the problem again, I will post it here.
no traffic, and the reporter has reinstalled.
Yes, I've epiphany 1.4.0 installed and the problem didn't appear for long. IMHO The bug can be closed.
