After a recent emerge --sync, I am no longer able to run "emerge -uD world". This results in an error:

Could you please try portage-9999, I believe we have that fixed in git and will be in a release later this week.

Addition: the error also occurs when using portage-9999 (installed just now).

If you can reproduce this them please add --debug to your emerge options and post a log of the output.
