Description imbacil 2004-05-20 06:52:22 UTC
Emerging subversion-1.0.3 downgrades autoconf, even though autoconf-2.58-r1
is masked as stable.

emerge -Uvp subversion
[ebuild UD] sys-devel/autoconf-2.57-r1 [2.58-r1]
[ebuild U ] net-misc/neon-0.24.6 [0.24.5] -expat +ssl +zlib
[ebuild U ] dev-util/subversion-1.0.3 [1.0.2] +apache2 +berkdb -emacs -java -perl -python +ssl

emerge -vp autoconf
[ebuild R ] sys-devel/autoconf-2.58-r1

Reproducible: Always

Please ignore the word 'masked' in the bug report

right, subversion doesn't work with 2.58 and 2.59 is not yet marked stable, so the downgrade is the only recourse.

I think the best thing here is to bump base-system into marking autoconf 2.59 as stable, as it's been ~ for a long time and it fixes some glaring bugs from 2.58

ok, i've marked autoconf 2.59 as x86 stable, so this should be fixed now.
