It is suspected that this package is vulnerable to a security vulnerability in LZO. As such we ask maintainers with packages suspected to be vulnerable to verify if the package is (or have been) affected. Please see the information contained in the tracker bug 515246. "An integer overflow may occur when processing any variant of a "literal run" in the lzo1x_decompress_safe function. Each of these three locations is subject to an integer overflow when processing zero bytes.", additional information about the upstream vulnerability is available at http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2014/q2/665
Upstream is still shipping affected minilzo 2.06 in latest 0.9.39.2. I pinged upstream via IRC.
games-emulation/mednafen-0.9.41 was released which includes the miniLZO update, see https://mednafen.github.io/documentation/ChangeLog.txt for more details. @ Maintainer(s): Some notes from upstream when preparing the bump: - Mednafen as a whole is GPLv2, not GPLv2+, there's a little bit of GPLv2-only code in it - Homepage was changed to https://mednafen.github.io/ (SRC_URI needs to be updated as well; redirect may not work) - Releases are now using xz instead of bzip2 - Localdir patch should be obsolete now - Please update description (outdated and therefore misleading) - Please check dependency on media-libs/sdl-net, should be unneeded ...and now please bump to >=games-emulation/mednafen-0.9.41 :) I'd like to thank upstream for remembering my ping from Nov 2016 and notifying Gentoo about the release and changed package details.
