distcc is not a factor here as it errors when i disable it too.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run "emerge -Uv libpng"
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
the error above was displayed

Expected Results:  
compiled sucessfully

see bug 12561

2 weeks ago vapier removed these statements from src_compile():

	replace-flags "-march=k6-3" "-march=i586"
	replace-flags "-march=k6-2" "-march=i586"
	replace-flags "-march=k6" "-march=i586"

that's leading to this bug. applies to 1.2.5-r4 and 1.2.5-r5

john or a bug-wrangler, please reopen this bug

this is the same issue as bug 12561, but not a duplicate. bug 12561 has been
fixed, but vapier modified the ebuilds 2 weeks ago to let them fail again.
this issue needs to be handled by a dev.
