Description karpi 2014-04-24 21:07:59 UTC
Hello. I've compiled stable 1.10.6 wireshark with qt4 frontend, and that appears as not ready for normal use. Menu is incomplete, consist only from a few items (File, Edit, View, Go, Capture, Analyze, Help.) The others items.. ..Tools, Statistic, etc... are missing. "Follow tcp stream" is unaviable. etc...

http://ask.wireshark.org/questions/32156/there-are-missing-menu-items-on-my-gentoo-installation-what-is-wrong

I think qt4 support should be removed for the present, or user should be warned before compilation.

metadata.xml:<flag name='qt4'>Build the wireshark executable with an experimental Qt UI instead of GTK+.</flag>

I think that should be enough warning. The Qt interface works fine as long as you don't expect to get the old GTK+ workflow.
