Thanks for the report and sorry for such a late reply. I can reproduce this with the newest version as well. I'm afraid that the clang team in Gentoo is understaffed right now, and we're unable to handle issues of building various packages with clang ourselves. I'm CC-ing the package maintainers in case they'd be interested in the issue but since clang is not officially supported, they're not required to take any specific action. If you could report the issue upstream, that would be great. If you could provide a working patch, that would be even better. Otherwise, I'm afraid we aren't be able to fix the issue anytime soon.
libsoup 2.46.0-r1 is stable since the 27th July, and does not show the issue. Compiling and tests are fine with clang-3.4.2. I have checked that the new version does not add -Wno-format-nonliteral to the flags (which can be used as a workaround). I was unable to pinpoint the fix, since the only difference in soup-xmlrpc is the addition of the prototype just before the offending function.
Found the upstream reference: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=720082 Applying the latest attachment from the bug fixes the compilation of libsoup-2.44.2 with clang-3.4.2. libsoup-2.44.2 fails the no-ssl-test with or without the patch, both on clang-3.4.2 and GCC 4.8.3.
fixed in current version then
