Just saw this downgrade of php
emerge -pv1 php

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Root cause:

The status field's VERIFIED is for QA usage; in reality, the appropriate solution here would be to also prevent this from happening again. Which will eventually happen in repoman as we start to support checking out VCS diffs; but until then, it occasionally breaks like this...

As to prevent VERIFIED to be set for other reasons in the future, bug #497996.
