I purchased a new monitor which unfortunately doesn't have really dark blacks so I was looking for a color scheme for konsole that would look better. When I run eix-sync in a KDE konsole terminal with a light yellow background I see the background color all the way through the sync process, but when the program sgets to the point where it says it's calling eix-diff and diffing the databases if it shows new packages this section does not honor the konsole background color and always shows (as far as I know right now) in black. I will attach a screenshot showing this. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use konsole and set the color scheme to black on light yellow 2. Run eix-sync 3. If there are new packages then the eix diff portion uses a black background Actual Results: Shown in attached screenshot Expected Results: Would be nice if it honored the color scheme of the terminal but I understand this may be difficult in terms of showing all the colors eix tries to show these days. c2RAID6 ~ # Created attachment 367756 [details] Screenshot of color problem
Try putting BG1=none in /etc/eixrc/00-eixrc See also bug 438076.
You might also want to add DARK=false or manually change the colour scheme for eix or disabling eix colouring altogether.
I agree that this is the same issue as the bug you pointed me toward and as such is known and resolved so I'm going to close this and use one, both or none of the suggestions you've provided. Thanks!
