Hi all, I just switched to systemd and I'm facing an issue with encrypted swap. The problem seems a bit different to the one referred here: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=493874 In my case, the swap is encrypted but activated by initrd as I wan my system be able to hibernate. basically, grub command line is the following: linux /kernel-genkernel-x86_64-3.12.6 root=/dev/mapper/vg0-root dolvm crypt_root=/dev/sda3 real_root=/dev/mapper/vg0-root root_trim=yes crypt_swap=/dev/sda2 swap_keydev=/dev/mapper/somedev swap_key=/somefile quiet splash init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd So the swap partition is activated by initrd and systemd should only perform a swapon; it waits until it gets a timeout that the device becomes ready: Timed out waiting for device dev-mapper-swap.device. So it seems that there is no way to tell udev/systemd to proceed with the device as it waits for something already happened. following hints in previous bug, I have CONFIG_UEVENT_HELPER_PATH="" and also tried to modify lvm config (watch= option) but without success). If I set up an encrypted swap using crypttab like in mentioned bug all works fine (except for a harmless warning: systemd-udevd[3258]: conflicting device node '/dev/mapper/swap' found, link to '/dev/dm-4' will not be created) but this seems not to allow hybernation. Any hint?
