Description Joseph 2013-12-29 00:28:22 UTC
I just upgraded my system and "meld" as well.
I'm using "cfg-update -u" to compare files that did change utilizing meld

When I try to compare two file as root using meld I get:

meld /etc/ddclient/ddclient.conf /etc/ddclient/._cfg0000_ddclient.conf
Traceback (most recent call last):

  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/multiprocessing/synchronize.py", line 59, in <module>
    " function, see issue 3770.")
ImportError: This platform lacks a functioning sem_open implementation, therefore, the required synchronization primitives needed will not function, see issue 3770.

Both versions: 1.7.0 and 1.8.2 producing the same results

Reproducible: Always

This seems to be a dupe of bug 496328.
Comment 2 Joseph 2013-12-29 06:35:25 UTC
I dig out meld-1.6.0 from attic and it is working correctly.
medl-1.7.0 and 1.8.2 don't work.

It is easy to make a problem duplicate of a bug (484774) that is mark Invalid and close it off.
But the problem still persist and it is real.

Looks more similar to bug 496328 indeed
