causes undefined encoding exception on coverting to UTF-8 from Binary. This is easily avoided but not actually including the offending symbols in the comment and otherwise mars the ubiquity of UTF-8 in the rest of system?

This is fixed in commit 257e10a and will be part of OpenRC-0.13.
