There's a rewritten version ( Called spca5xx ) which supports more webcams than the old version ( And support for 2.6.x kernels ).

use env -u to unset ARCH from portage

ARCH conflict was resolved this way in svgalib, use same approach here too :)

spca50x/ spca5xx/

I think you're looking for spca50x...  Need to make sure.

yes, there is *now*, but not at the time bug was opened :)

Bah to resolving old bugs in this manner.  Oh well :|.  Thanks for posting and using gentoo :)
