Recent updates have created many messages in my Handbrake terminal relating to fontconfig. There seem to be reports of this error on Debian bug reporting web sites & elsewhere. As best I can tell handbrake is running correctly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. The problem is with the /etc/fonts/conf.avail/*.conf files that have features no longer supported in newer fontconfig versions. You should file bug reports for the individual font packages that install these files. Note that conf.d/ has symlinks to ../conf.avail/ where those files get installed.

I've put in bug 490340 for media-fonts/arphicfonts.
As far as I know all affected packages in the gentoo repo have been fixed.
