Client and server both tigervnc-1.2.80_p5065 on Gentoo ~amd64. Previous version behaviour was that, when in fullscreen, Ctrl and Alt modifiers were sent to the server. (There is a preference governing this, but it was and still is enabled by default.) Alt is still always sent correctly (as far as I've seen), but Ctrl is not consistent: None of the Ctrl+* shortcuts seem to work in firefox-bin, but Ctrl+C works in rxvt-unicode. The problem appears to be on the client side, as a tigervnc-1.2.0 downgrade (server not downgraded) solves it. emerge --info (from client, will post server's too if requested): Portage 2.1.13.1 Can you please add svn version of tigervnc (v1.4.80) into the Portage tree? I compiled it and it works fine, every keyboard shortcut I tried works perfectly. And more, it works with Portage's fltk (both 1.3.2 and 1.3.3-r2) without any patching.
Updated title (fullscreen makes no difference now) and added upstream bug URL (which has just been closed). An svn build doesn't appear necessary: I just tried the x86_64 binary of the current stable tigervnc-1.4.2 release [1] and found no keyboard issues. Yes, I agree v1.4.2 is enough but I'm still missing it in Portage tree.
Can you please add v1.4.2 into Portage? I don't mind it's not designed for xorg-1.17, I don't need it. What I need is to get keyboard shortcuts to work in tigervnc. This bug has already been here for 18 months. Is there nobody who minds this problem?
I asked upstream why Crtl key combinations were not working. They said, that fltk needs to be built with the patches included with tigervnc 1.3.1. Also, this is really a shame that tigervnc's viewer isn't working for 18 months now.
And there exists a simple solution: add ebuild for v1.4.2. I tried this version and it's OK.
1.4.2 is now in Portage tree, -r1 is for <xorg-1.17, -r2 needs to unmask xorg-1.17. I tried -r1 and if I don't look at the problem with refreshing the background when resizing (black areas), I can say it works perfectly: shortcuts sent without any problem. I haven't tried -r2 though. So when 1.4.2-r1 is marked as stable, we can close this bug as SOLVED. Many thanks to Raúl - good job!
