See. the summary. PS: I find it really annoying that 3 weeks after I've posted ebuilds for saslv2 and postfix 1.1.11 with saslv2 support, postifx 1.1.11 apeared in the portage tree without saslv2 support. And that from someone who also put saslv2 into the portage tree. PPS: That postfix ebuilds have wrong headers. PPPS: sasslv2 is missing ldap support but there already exist a bug for. Just my 2 cents.
I made a postfix-1.1.11-r2 ebuild which included the aforementioned patch for postfix to allow cyrus-sasl-2.x support. It appears to compile okay and the patch applies without a problem. Please test and let me know of any required changes. I am also looking at updating the patch to the latest released patch from the postfix devel team and generally cleaning up the ebuild. Baby steps. Please note that currently the ebuild is masked in profiles/package.mask
Sorry, I haven't any system free to test it. But I'm running my postfix+sasl ebuilds on 3 system. And I'm wondering about your developers for not using or ignoring bugzilla. I suggest that, actually, postfix doesn't compile if the USE-flag sasl is on. Because the normal 1.1.11 doesn't compile with saslv2. I would also suggest to bind old postfix-versions to saslv1, they won't compile with saslv2. (And I can't use the puplished saslv2 because it's missing ldap support which is removed in plain 2.1.5). After a quick look over -r2 I suggest that this would break all existing postfix installations who are using postfix with saslv1, the passwords would get lost, not that fine. And because sasl is needed by postfix to authenticate at relays I think there could be some poeple using this. So, not to break exisiting installations postifx should use saslv1 if installed. Just see my ebuild. Give bizzy a hint to think about what he is doing and how to use bugzilla. Such behavior could offend some people and pulls down the engagement for publishing ebuilds. Regards, Alexander
Added your ebuild as postfix-1.1.11-r3. Please test and let me know if there are any problems. If everything looks good, then I will unmask it. If there are other changes needed, please let me know. -Nick
postfix-1.1.11.20020613 has been added to portage which include support for tls, ipv6, and saslv2.
