I've been noticed after one of last upgrades, that bitcoin-qt somewhy installs ugly lowres .ico pixmap instead of ~256px .png or .xpm pixmaps. Can you fix that, please? :) Reproducible: Always
The .ico contains resolutions from 16 up to 256 in 32-bit colour, and 32x32 in 8-bit colour. I don't think there are any additional images in the *.xpm and *.png.
Created attachment 355098 [details] Screenshot with ugly .ico Actually, installed .ico looks very ugly in any resolution I tested it, starting from 24, including 48, 64 and 128. I've added a screenshot to show you how ugly that icon looks like (upscaled with white border).
Created attachment 355100 [details] Prove .ico uglyness And that is that .ico opened in graphic viewer to prove it uglyness in, for example 96x96.
Created attachment 355104 [details] Normal icon And that is, for example, 256x256 .PNG, that looks fine (all the same without upscale and border artefacts. AFAIR, I took that icon from original bitcoin distribution, so I can't understand a reason to not install 256px png instead of ugly upscaled .ico.
This is a problem with whatever software is rendering it.
Can you tell about any software (avilable in portage), that renders it in 256px exactly like that PNG in attach? I can't. Even imagemagick's "display" shows border artefacts and upscale issues.
